MONTPELIER, Vt. — The Community College of Vermont (CCV) will hold its 51st commencement ceremony at Norwich University’s Shapiro Field House in Northfield, Vermont on June 2, 2018. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m.

The College is pleased to announce that Jen Kimmich, co-founder of The Alchemist Brewery in Waterbury and Stowe, will deliver this year’s commencement address. In addition to creating the famous Heady Topper, Kimmich and her husband John are well known for their innovative entrepreneurship, environmentalism and philanthropy. She serves as a trustee of the Vermont Public Interest Research Group, is a member of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility and the Vermont Business Roundtable, is board chair of Vermont’s Main Street Alliance, and serves on the State Workforce Development Board as well as on the board of the Vermont Council for Rural Development.

Retired Vermont State Colleges System Board of Trustees Chair Martha O’Connor will receive CCV’s 2018 Community Service Award. O’Connor served on the VSC Board of Trustees from 1999-2018, and was elected chair in 2014. She is the former chair of the Finance and Facilities and Executive Committees. She served as chair of the State Lottery Commission, chair of the State Board of Education and trustee at the University of Vermont.
