  • CCV faculty member Samn Stockwell will have the poem “1918” published in the Winter 2023-24 Issue of Ploughshares, edited by Ladette Randolph. This issue features poetry and prose by an array of writers.
  • CCV-Winooski hosted a press conference on November 8th, National First-Generation Student Day, highlighting the McClure Free Degree Promise program. High school students in the graduating classes of 2024-2026 are eligible for a free associate degree at CCV after completing the Early College program.
  • The Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) awarded CCV alumnus Matthew Moore with the Early Childhood Education Student of the Year award and faculty member April Zajko with an Outstanding Member Award. Moore received his associate degree in early childhood education from CCV and is an assistant teacher at the Sharon Elementary School preschool. 
  • CCV alumna Amber Roberge has been promoted from Finance Specialist to Loan Operations Officer at Community National Bank. Roberge received an associate degree in accounting from CCV.
  • CCV instructor Rick Winston’s book Red Scare in the Green Mountains: Vermont in the McCarthy Era was the focus of one of the Waterbury Public Library’s events through the Vermont Reads program.
  • CCV was selected as one of 25 two-year colleges to receive a 2023 Progress, Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope (PATH) Scholarship through the Ellucian Foundation. The $10,000 scholarship supported urgent student needs through CCV’s Life Gap Grant program.
  • The CCV-St. Johnsbury center is moving to the Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium. The new CCV location is part of the museum’s expansion and will offer select classes, advising, financial aid counseling, and other services.
  • “Between House and Barn, A Poetry Reading by Carol Potter,” was held at the Tunbridge Public Library on Sunday, February 4th. This free event showcased CCV faculty member Carol Potter.
  • CCV President Joyce Judy has been elected board chair of the Central Vermont Medical Center Board of Trustees. “The entire board of trustees is committed to advancing our mission and ensuring our community’s well-being is at the heart of everything we do,” said Judy.
