MONTPELIER, Vt. – The Community College of Vermont (CCV) will offer a Certified Production Technician (CPT) course at its St. Johnsbury academic center. The course will be free and open to the public. Classes will take place at CCV-St. Johnsbury at 1197 Main St. Classes will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 – 8:15 p.m, from September 27 to December 13.
The CPT program was developed by the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) and is an industry-recognized credential in the fields of manufacturing and production. The CPT consists of four training modules: Safety, Manufacturing Processes and Production, Quality Practices and Measurement, and Maintenance Awareness. The St. Johnsbury class will cover the Safety and Quality Practices and Measurement modules. The CPT program continues through the Spring 2017 semester, which will cover the remaining modules. Successful completion of the fall course is required for participation in the spring.
