Young Vermonters are gearing up for their next big stride toward earning a college degree. This fall the first official Early College Program high school students will begin their senior year at Vermont colleges thanks to the passage of the Flexible Pathways Act.
Everybody likes being first, and this week thirteen Williamstown Middle High School students had their chance at the prized spot.
“I don’t think in the beginning these students knew they were the pacesetters they are,” said Williamstown Middle High School teacher Sandy Fitzmorris. “But I think today they know they’ve made a real mark on education in Vermont.”
On August 1 2012 The J. Warren & Lois McClure Foundation announced over $450,000 in grants to support of programs that further the Foundation’s mission of improving access to college and career education for all Vermonters.
